It wasn't really a cheap shot at fixie riders or anything like that. I had briefly dated a girl with a lot of personal issues, and low self esteem. Even though she was 42, the idea of dating "grownups" was threatening to her.

My current girlfriend doesn't own a bike, but she did say she'll go riding with me. Might not sell the tandem after all. Of course, she's also encouraging me to buy another motorcycle, so she can ride mine...
