Bikes: like 15. my favorite a 1951 schwinn spitfire cruiser. also have a 1959 amf roadmaster, 1962 jch deluxe cruiser among others.

yeah, no sweat. like they say, the indexing for 6,7,9,,etc speed is in the shifter. as long as the shifter is compatable indexed spacing with the spacings of the rear cogs, if an indexed system. friction shifting, absolutly no problems.
