I'm seriously looking at a new Trek 2100, which has a carbon fiber fork, seat post, and seat stays. I'm a bit worried since I weigh about 270lbs, and even though Trek has a lifetime warranty on their frames, I'd really rather not have to go down that road (or down onto that road, as the case may be). Am I being overly pessimistic, or is there a legitimate concern?

Earlier this year I saw 4 carbon seat posts break in a cyclocross race. I've never seen that before but 4 in one day was quite a surprise. Cross is abusive to bikes but still it kind of made me weary of my CF seat post.
