I have ridden down the hill pictured below (the road that leads up to my driveway), hit unexpected ice, and done a header into the snowbank on the side of the road. Which certainly beat hitting the pavement. Got up and continued with the ride that day. Sometimes I'm not a total idiot and I throw the bike in my car and start the ride from the bottom of my development (about half a mile from my driveway). But usually I prefer being an idiot. I learned that here by the way.
