I`we seen some of the quill bottoms is straight and some are leaning away from the seat. If it is leaning away you could maybe do with a stem with a handlebar fixed to it. If straight you might want a stem. I am doing something similar and are using a seatpost with an ahead stem and a long rod down to a star nut in the fork+ a clamp. I`d like to buy something in stead.
Like I said I just wish it was easyer to buy this stuff.

It was my understanding that the riser-tube cannot be extracted from the assembly of the 2008 model. If it could be extracted, it would make better sense to reuse it, than shop for a new custom-length alloy tube.
This sort of thing you only find out after buying it.
There should be a "where to buy what" sticky in the folder forum. If you buy something, present it, describe it and give a link to the shop. A lot of the "folder stuff" is different from "big bike stuff".
