See my note on gearing... I like running big rings and larger cogs.

The crank is a modern Peugeot branded Sakae / SR with a 52 tooth Sugino chain ring.

I have managed to do 10 mile runs in times of 22 minutes with this old bike but I don't think I am up for attempting the hour record any time soon. it's quick & fun...that's all that really matters!

so it's a fun bike & you have a good reason for the "strange" ways some things are set up?

hmmmm.....i think this is a good example of ....just because a bike doesn't look "dialed in" doesn't mean it isn't!
