Thanks! You just answered a basic question that I had - 165 (not shown in the 1986 catalog) is probably the lever that I have on my Fuji & Motobecane. The other question I had was whether rubber hoods could be used with safety levers, and it seems that yes, there would be sufficient clearance on the side.

Edit: wait, I'm starting to get it.... The 165 is a 144 base with the substitution of the longer pivot post to accept the accessory safety/suicide lever.
