I have a feeling those guys are seeing a false correlation between protein and sleepyness/fatigue. I actually take protein+sugars before a workout so my body has fuel to run on without catabolizing itself and after working out to aid in the recovery process.

I'm sure my body would feel tired after my workouts just because of the exhaustive effects of the activity, whether i take protein supplements or not.
