Didn't I mention this about four days ago as something to check first? Briefly submerging it is not going to hurt anything and may let you know where the air is leaking out. The valves used are usually generic schreader valves. They can be removed with a cheap tire valve tool from an auto parts store. I have replaced them with one out of a damaged tube or you can get an official one pretty cheap.
