It's summer, I wear a cycling cap under my helmet ... and look like a goose. However, where I'm not bald, my hair is very thin and I already have skin cancers on my scalp despite wearing hats all my life.

Even if you're young and don't think you're bald or balding, give some thought to your scalp in summer - if there's any hint of sunburn, even under a helmet, wear something. It doesn't have to be a cap - I wear them because they're easier than a bandana (not that a bandana is hard to tie) and I got them free at last year's Tour Down Under.
