Sounds like a nice place all right. Portland is a beautiful city and it is getting better for bikes. Still lots of hills, though. Think you can get the City Council to do something about that?
My company has locker rooms with plenty of showers, racks in the basement parking garage or you can leave your ride in the stairwell (inside a security door), and offers various commuter incentives not only for bikers, but for everyone who uses alternative forms of transportation. We even recently had a LBS open a small shop in one of our buildings. We can get a tune-up for $25 + parts, with the rest being subsidized by the company. $15 extra for recumbents. There are some advantages to being a cog in a 90K-person company at a 20-30K person campus.
