I sold my walmart-special mountain bike in favour of an older road bike specifically for commuting. After getting used to it, it really changed my perception of commuting by bike. I now look for excuses to ride instead of excuses to avoid riding. Of course it's parked now because I live in the Canadian prairies, but by April I should be back on it.
