Well said pipes. I don't understand all the dog hate. Around here, the only real concern is that you might run over pooch's tail, when he comes scampering up to see you. You just have to slow right down and say hello, just take a bit if care. Part of the problem here, are the people that think they are tough and want a tough dog. They are also the ones that more often let their dogs get loose.
