A friend of mine summed up his Madone as comfy but dead.

Yep, the RS2 goes where you *think*.

My 06 Zurich is still my bike for 100+ milers.

Did 3 100 milers on the RS2 last year and felt much better on the Zurich after a 100 miler.

A friend of mine is building up a RS2 with 09 Rival and is looking at sub 16 with pedals. cheap.

My Madone 5.2 had some lighter components than what would have come with it from the factory (wheels, handlebars, stem cap, stem etc). The Madone *is* more comfortable but there is this numbness to the ride that is annoying to me. Let's just call it "plush". Great for long distances rides. The RS2 has a more aggressive geometry and riding position, has much shorter headtube heigth, has a smaller wheelbase and is super responsive in comparison.

The 2009 5.2 Madone MSRP went up in price closeer to $800.00 over the '08 version. I paid $2,700 for mine and sold it for exactly what I paid. It was nice, but I doubt I buy another Trek again anytime soon.
