If you'll look closely, that was quote was posted by the Historian... not me. I never referred to anyone as "uppity." I believe the Historian was referring to me as "uppity" and is encouraging people to ignore my posts.

I guess the thing that is discouraging is the fact that I have stated many times that I have a hybrid/comfort bike. I still ride it... but just around the neighborhood. I've had the hybrid/comfort bike for 6+ years. It's my least favorite bike. I spent $300 on it. I would rather have the $300 to buy other bike accessories. For me... it was a mistake. But, from the responses on this thread, it appears that it might just be the perfect bike??

Hey, if the OP (or anyone else) is convinced this is the way to go, I'm willing to sell it for $150 with slicks, fenders, and trigger shifters that I put in when the "grip shift" failed. You can't go wrong... it's been maintained well and still looks great. It's a better deal than you'll get at any LBS and it's a better bike than you'll get for under $400 at a department store.
