I usually average around 10mph on my way to work (early in the morning and lots of climbing). And then I average about 15 mph on the way home (I'm now wide awake and there is A LOT more downhill).
Same with me. Even if I try to go slower I still sweat because of the hills, so I figure I might as well push the pace as much as I can. I am able to push the pace more in the spring/summer/fall than in the winter because of all the layering involved for the winter weather.
