I find the Campy/Shimano/SRAM holy wars very entertaining. It reminds me of the futile arguments between the Mac/PC guys who have no clue that the only thing worthwhile in the argument is the argument itself.
I just built a new bike with Record, which is my first Campy bike since pre-history (or the 80's) and I certainly think it is very nice drivetrain. I have an E-5 Allez with Dura-Ace and it performs exceedlingly well too.
The only reason I went with Campy for my new bike is because the frame is Italian, and I just thought it would be cool to put Italian (OK, Romanian) parts on it for the "synergy." I figure it is as good of a reason as any.
If I buy a Fuji frame, I'll put Japanese (made in Malaysia) parts on for that synergy as well. Seems OK to me.
