As a few have already also stated, it depends on which way I am going.

The trip to work is pretty casual. I get warmed up and raise the pulse a bit, but I don't push myself enough to get winded or start sweating much.

The trip home is a totally different story. I go as fast as I can along the path, then attack the 18% grade in the last two miles before my house, arriving in a heaving, sweaty mess.

Living in a mountain valley pretty much means any place you go has a climb.
