I'm still winter commuting with these after 3 years. My feet are fairly warm during my 1+ hour commute in -15C temperatures with a pair of thick DeFeet Woolie Boolie socks.
I'm not as hard core as I use to be but I remember a couple years ago, commuted in temps down to -20C. Toes were a cold after an hour but when used with booties, were generally warm.
