My wife is from just south of Orem in Genola. Not that familiar with the exact route you show, but I think it would work better in summer. Roads are pretty narrow, shoulders are minimal. This time of year I would bet ice and snow would be a problem as you went up into the mountains east of Orem. I'd stay on the flats and head south or west of Orem. Lots of old orchard country there, but it is all getting built up as SLC creeps south...

I was there last year at about this time and it was pretty icy. I'd take Sesame Crunch's offer and ride in the Half Moon Bay area instead. Much higher probability of nice riding.
