They nearly did. Ok so it was my fault I forgot about it, but really, closing off the roads and killing my Sunday ride did not a happy kitty make. Actually what I found odd was that the road closure heading south was halfway between O'side and C'bad in the middle of the lagoon crossing. Ya. City planning at it's finest.
Last year there was a sign there that said "Closed - Church Traffic Only". I told the volunteer and the police officer stationed there that I was going to St. Patrick's. He let me go and I rode to just south of Fidels where another cop ran across the street to intercept me and yell at me. I apologized and told him that the other officer had let me go because I was on my way to church. He said, "He must have thought you said St. Michaels (near the ANA). I apologized again and offered to take a side street to Tamarack. He agreed and I made it to the ride on time.
I'm going to burn in Hell.
