In response to the argument surrounding the necessity of these clipless pedals, I agree that not buying them would solve the problem of expense, and that I can get along with out the luxury; however, I am deciding to buy them even after considering those factors. With reasons of my own you can be sure I am using discretion in my choice.

I have read every post and gathered enough information to feel better about my choice. I appreciate everyone's responses, it always helps to have more than one angle to view. I believe I have a pair of shoes lined up, and I will be going with the SPD's.
