I've finally gotten some replacement shifters for my dead Tiagra STIs. And now the fun part -- putting them on.
The first thing I read on the directions for the Dura Ace 9spd barends was "These shifters can only be used with Dura Ace derailleurs." Is this true? I know I've seen other 9spd barend set-ups with all kinds of rear derailluers. Maybe they weren't Dura Ace shifters??? I don't have the bread to buy a whole new Dura Ace rear derailleur, and my 105 is working just fine!
Also, what do you do if you can't install the cable housing stop bosses? I don't have down-tube braze-ons for the housing stop bosses, but I do have some housing stops that are welded to the bottom of my down-tube by the head tube. Can I just use those if I cut the housings down a bit?

Ignore the stupid label on the shifters They are compatible with any shimano SIS RD other than a pre 9 speed DA. Don't your stops at the HT have an adjuster in them? With barends you don't really need adjusters anyway. There is the critical one at the RD, and the FD doesn't have to have one.
