Bikes: "Hildy", a Novara Randonee touring bike; a 16-speed Bike Friday Tikit; and a Specialized Stumpjumper frame-based built-up MTB, now serving as the kid-carrier, grocery-getter.
I stopped at the LBS after work, and went through all this with my mechanic. He agrees that I will notice a difference with wider bars. (Hopefully a difference for the better!)
He ordered me 44cm wide drop bars, 4cm wider than the ones I have on now. We'll see how that works.
He suggested that rather than tilt the bar, that he move the brake lever assembly up a bit and adjust the levers a little closer to the bars. (I have small hands for a short stocky guy.)
The bar should be in next week, and I'll post how it goes.
