I have recently found an old Olmo road bike. I have always been a toe clip rider, but this bike came with Look clipless pedals. This set me wondering how it would feel to ride clipless. But problem is, around here, bicycle components are hard to find. I have been trying to find cleats here, but the only option is to buy pedals, cleats and shoes as a set. Moreover, Look pedals are not to be found.

So, I was wondering about going mail order. Which led me to the choices between grip cleats and fixed cleats and cleats with different degrees of float. Now, I need advice. For someone with no experience with clipless pedals, what is the safest or most convenient cleat to get? Would help if it was easy to clip out of while offering some float.

It would help if someone could suggest a particular model or brand. I shall have to order without trying out the cleat, so the more specific, the better.
