Hmmm... I sometimes have that after i ride, when i dont wash my bike after the ride then put it in the gargage for the night, i come down next day, and my chain and cogs have surface rust on them, i think its a combination of the dirt, the water and the air that rusts the components, i give them a squirt of motor oil and it works fine again
