crown race needs to be installed..assuming they are the same size this isn't a problem.
possibly a new headset, something of the cheaperish tange levin variety. It would be easier to buy a headset to match the fork opposed to using the old one. The crown race diameter is the one to watch out for. Just install in the $50-70 range I would think.
thanks keith, good hearing from you, dude! i'll be heading across to bisegal later today to see what they can do.

the steerer isn't chromed, however it is Columbus SLX with a touch of surface rust. the fork in question is something in the 40mm rake area, lugged rossin that somehow got rattle-canned black in its 20yr lifetime...

Once I make sure it fits, I'll be sanding down the aero lugged area (internal lugged crown with the inside of the legs exposing the downward lug triangle part), i'll polish that up and then paint the rest of the legs BBQ black - to match the rest of my frame. - the "R" pantographed crown should look pretty nice!

I have been told to expect the crown race diameter to be 26.4 on the fuji track... but if someone can confirm that for me, it would be great.

(to continue nerding out, I've been told that threading down the steerer is kinda hard on something chromoly, regardless of butting, and that the threads will never be as strong as when it was originally.[because the original threads are rolled, cut and then heated, and post-heating the chromo will be a tad brittle]

anyone do this before? experiences? etc?
