I'm hardcore enough to have rolled a metric century in Levi's (501s, not that girl ****, hehehe), but too old and lame to roll one in one gear around here. I did a real century with 8 gears last summer after my der cable broke, though. 42x(12-28) I would've hitchhiked home if I had to choose just one gear.
Pretty soon I'm gonna get even wussier and put a 39, 52 up front.

Anyways, stereotypes = fun for everyone. Think of how lame the discussion would be had the OP replaced the word roadies with "bicycle riders"....
