I have baked enamaels sucssesfully onto metals. My chainring is custom flat black.
The procedure is enamael @ 120-140 degrees 20 min.
What type of enamel paint did you use. Just a standard spray enamel?
..also, think well about the parts fitting together and don't paint inside collars, places where bushings rub.
Use a little tape and mask.
