You shouldn't need to try both red and black if you can decide if you want the pedals to lock you into one position (black) or if you want the freedom to swivel your feet a little bit (red). The general concensus is that the "float" the reds provide are nicer on the knees.
Hi Urbanknight. Thanks a lot for your continued advice. I shall tell you why I am thinking on these lines.
I live in Bombay, where traffic is very dense and people still tend to speed at every opportunity. Which means that whe I am in traffic, I have to stop every once in a while, and I need to be able to free my foot all of a sudden, every once in a while.
I have heard that cleats with float are more difficult to unclip from. So, I wanted to try out both cleats before deciding. Do you agree with this view? Otherwise, I could go ahead with the red cleats only.
