The short answer to your question: no, not me.

The long answer: I added a 26t small chainring and changed the front derailleur. I did not change or adjust (if it's even possible) my bottom bracket. This solution has worked well for me.

Note: I was after increasing gear inches. So, I also changed out the cassette to a SRAM 11x32. That, combined with the 26t ring, give me enough range for even the steepest of hills (going up or down).
