First, Our most sincere condolences to the bicyclist family and friends. On the uber-heavy trafficed streets, I'm a chicken, I admit it, I'll take a out of the way bike path or lane or even a sidewalk rather than "assert" my "space" with the idiot majority of cage (car) drivers. My life is more important than "princapal", jmho. It is a shame that we bicyclist can't get the respect here in the USA that I saw the auto drivers in Europe give bicyclist's on trafficed roads. The bicycle here is considered a recreational TOY, not viable transportation, untill that ideal is changed the situation will remain the same.
