I'll add my condolences to the victim's family and friends. I ride on one very busy two-lane country road. The shoulder varies from 2' to 2" in width and there is way too much (fast) traffic to "take the lane". Speed limit is 55, but I'm amazed at how many cars and pickup trucks are going at least 70 mph. On a 5 mile stretch of road the difference between 55 and 70 mph is just over a minute and there are many cross streets and driveways on this stretch. Many drivers today have no regard for public safety and lack common sense.
