While your only flexing the stays 2mm on each sides the 'faces' come out of parrallel with one another. Sure, you can slip a wheel in and out with a little effort but, over time the poorly alignent faces will put stress on the axle which may lead to bearing issues or axles failure. This was much more common backin the days of conventional freewheel hubs. Cassettes hubs are much less prone to dropout alignment issues but it could still happen.
