Here is the new and improved version of my workstand. I can just drop the bike on it and clean the chain without clamping it, and without the bike bucking back and forth.
I made it by clamping some 2x4s together, and drilling a 1 inch hole through the interface between the 2x4s, then separating them. The rubber bands keep it from scratching the top tube.
