I have ~ 41 hours and 34,000 feet of climbing this year consisting of road, trainer and track time.

Like A'Jet, my training is geared for competition and the prescribed workout is measured in hours at an intensity. I train 5 days per week on the with 2 days off. The other 2 days I am in the gym.

One day per week, I ride at the track (velodrome). Track workouts are generally a series of maximum efforts i.e. sprinting, team pursuit and standing starts of shorter duration. In general, I find the track workout easier from which to recover than a 3 hour ride with 5000 feet of climbing. I do not do recovery rides. Each day has a training purpose and there are no junk miles. The goal is to hit the prescribed numbers and then recover to get ready for the next session. This is the most fun I have had in sports and I love the intense training and competition.
