Since my bike needs 1.75 worth of chain I am really not sure if it pays to protect the cassette or try and get my money out of the chain.

I really hope you guys on bikes today survive, I was crutching home from the Metro and I could not get across the beltway bridge, winds were too strong. I had to call a freind to get me the rest of the way home.
