My Tires Weigh What? ARGH!

Been needing new tires for my Vagrant. I had been running a Mutano Raptor Comp in the front and a Stout 2.3 Race in the rear. Worked ok, but 2 very different tires with 2 different goals. Wanted a light, high volume set for XC days, and a heavier set for wetter/rougher days. Decided to pair the Mutano with another Mutano, but this time got the Race version as they were (supposedly) 100g lighter. For the rougher days, I was going to pair the Stout with the new Prowler MX 2.3 Race.

Just received my tires and I am not happy about what my scale is telling me. I used 2 different scales. Going to try and find a third.

Mutano Comp 2.4
Claimed weight: 680g ___ Actual Weight: 690g
Mutano Race 2.4 Claimed weight: 595g ___ Actual Weight: 650g
Prowler MX Race 2.3 Claimed weight: 869g ___ Actual Weight: 920g
Stout Race 2.3 Claimed Weight: 863g ___ Actual Weight: ? (wrote it down, can't find it yet)

So I just spent $90 plus shipping on these 2 new tires and the weights are off by quite a bit. I already thought the Prowler was heavier than I wanted, but it is actually 50g heavier than that. The Mutano is 55g too heavy, and only 40g less than the Comp version. This means I could have bought the Comp Mutano again and saved $25 while only gaining 40g. The comp version would last longer too. I only spent the extra money because I thought it would be significantly lighter.

I know tire weight varies, but this just seems crazy to me. I'm not sure I would have bought the Prowler had I known the weight, but I certainly would not have gotten the Mutano as they were going to be my light tires.

Am I just being ridiculous here?
