"Tiagra isn't that much better than Sora that it should be a factor. In fact, if your shop is willing, swap either the Sora or Tiagra rear-d for 105/ultegra."



Interestingly enough, we are looking at these same bikes for my wife. The issue on the Sora is not necessarily in the rd; rather the Sora shifters don't have the "half-click" indexing that allows for fine tuning the fd when moving among the triple chainrings.
