BillyD, maybe you should get a beater bike or a mountain bike so you can get some saddle time when the roads are sloppy?
I know our weather doesn't compare with yours but my mtb is caked with mud and sand right now and it doesn't bother me. Also, my older road bike has the pads ground down and the rims looking worn after a few rain rides.
It is a pain to clean your nice bike and then get it filthy again. What bike do you have, btw?
