This is great feedback, thank you. I too am a rec rider. I am not young enough or fast enough to be competitive; but, I do like to train hard and make improvements to my fitness and speed. I want to make sure that what I buy isn't just for burning calories but will really kick my butt and can make my heart rate max out. It should improve my performance on the bike.

What kind of rollers did you get? The E-Motion rollers are at the top of my list because I am less likely to fall off of them, but they are expensive. However, they are probably no more than buying a spin bike.
