I'm fighting a losing battle with the Suntour Spirt FD on my daughters 1978 Motobecane Mirage. The chain contact surfaces are severely grooved, and the movements are poor due to worn joints. Any thought if a switch to a Compe-V would be plug-&-play? Could I take parts off of the Spirt to complete yours? If it looks possible, I'd love to have it. Should I PM you?

Sure, Steve, PM me with your address and I will send along. Not sure about whether the pinch bolts are interchangeable, but looks like USAZorro is offering you one from his. Please note the 'plate' looking thing that goes between the pinch bolt and the threaded hole is also missing, whatever that is called.
This was a donor FD that I picked out the parts bin at Working Bikes Cooperative, specifically for the pinch bolt and plate that mine was missing. There are a couple of good threads on here about the Compe-V if you are interested.
