Here in the Dallas suburbs, it's pretty variable. Tends to be decent surface, except for the patches on the patches that can make it kind of rough. But not too many actual potholes in town. Dallas is pretty decent on the major roads. The bad spots tend to be man-made, rather than deterioration (concrete seams and the like).
