I've broken an STI - just overshifted the front, tried to change back, bam, it breaks. Not user (or even bike shop) servicable.

I've crashed 3-4 times with my stis now, they are very battered looking. I'd rather have bar-ends, and when the sti's break again, I'll just put bar-ends on.

I'll keep the STIs on, tho', cause they are good brake levers and very comfy.

Just not at all durable.
