I was happy, seller was happy. I do intend to ride this bike into the ground, hopefully that will happen in some decades from now.
On a side note, just returned from a 40 miler after 2 weeks off due to a cold on my alu specialized bike (tricross on road tyres) damn those frames are rigid! right up my alley
I've found quite a few Litespeed titanium bikes in the price range of well under two thousand dollars. I'm looking at one right now which has a full Dura Ace set up. I will likely have to go used, but that doesn't seem to be as big a deal with titanium. In regard to the poster who stated that carbon is much cheaper than titanium, I have certainly found it to be different. It seems to me that for the more top of the line bikes, titanium is much cheaper than carbon, although much harder to come by.

In response to the poster who suggested that I make my own nuanced decision, I one hundred percent agree. I think that for me the prospect of having a frame which is very durable and long lasting, while also being lightweight is most appealing to me. Comfort is also a factor. This is why I am going to likely go with titanium. It could be a long road to find the one I want, but, to me, it seems to be the best fit.
