"Excessive" is relative. If you've got that kind of money, buy whatever you want. That said:

A) Any hardcore cyclist with a low-end Frankenstein's monster bike will snicker at you, especially if they're passing you with ease. And even more so if you're wearing full team kit (Rabo, et al.).

B) The bike won't improve the engine. However, it will make the ride that much more enjoyable.

C) You will certainly garner "excessive" attention with such a beautiful ride.
