First, I keep it perspective. Those drivers are merely being rude.
Since I have had motorists slam me to the curb with their fender, bounce cans of drink off my helmet, narrowly miss me with glass bottles, shoot me with a pellet gun, and grab my elbow in an attempt to pull me off the bike (all incidents unprovoked): mere rudeness falls to the quiet end of the behavior spectrum.
That said, I usually invite them to be on the submissive end of homoerotic sex. However, I do try to stay calm and count to 10 before doing it. That gets the driver out of earshot and still relieves me. I have noticed that most harrassing motorists do not stick around to allow you a retort. So really, shouting at them is futile at best, dangerous at worst.
It's after that, that comes the most important part. Getting back into the moment and letting the driver go in my mind. I use my meditation practice. I focus on my breathing for a short while. I take a moment to inspect the road for hazards and look up at the skies and listen for birds in the trees. Get back in the zen. I simply can't spend the next few miles on these jokers. That only benefits them.
You only need the Glock for the motorists who slam you to the curb with their fender, bounce cans of drink off your helmet, narrowly miss you with glass bottles, shoot you with a pellet gun or grab your elbow in an attempt to pull you off the bike.
