This is also what I do. Some lights just do not register a bike being there. Which reminds me of a time I parked my bike in a parking garage. I rode up and pressed the button for a ticket, the display said "no vehicle no ticket", the attendant waived me through, yet this garage had a fee structure for bikes, $1 per day. Free parking.
