Tour de Cure 2008.... ended up riding 110 miles in 7:50 with 30 and 40 MPH Kansas head winds. Last 50 miles we're unsupported due to the sag stops running out of bottled water and fruit.
I survived on Hammer gel and what little water I had left in my camelback. It was the most brutal ride ever but yet I walked away feeling that i could accomplish anything.
25 riders started the century and only 13 of us finished, the winds we're unforgiving. They even had part of the route( around 5 miles) on a 65 MPH 2 lane highway with no signs or sag vehicles to let motorist know what was going on, the motorist must have thought we we're crazy.
