Hey all; I'm looking for a bike rack that will let me store one or two bikes. I don't have much floor space, but I can shuffle stuff about to make some. There's a wealth of usable space higher up in the room. The ceiling is painted concrete, mostly at 9' 11" high. The walls sound like normal drywall, and the floor is linoleum "tile." I can't modify the walls, ceiling, floor, or furniture in any way (although I can shuffle stuff about).
Most of the stands I've found so far either brace between the ceiling and the floor, or rest on the floor against a wall. Of these kinds, I like the
Topeak Dual-Touch (there's one at an LBS), and the
Gravity Double Standing Bike Rack. However, I think something that stores the bikes vertically as opposed to horizontally would be more space-efficient, in addition to allowing me easier access to both bikes.
I've got a K2 Zed and a Fuji Newest. I don't mind storing the Zed at one of the bike racks at various places in the building, but the Fuji needs to stay in my room. My budget is around $150, though I'd prefer to stay under $100. Any suggestions or advice is appreciated.
